According to the Report the global information technology in 2016 by the World Economic Forum (WEF) made and published recently, in the list of 139 economies surveyed in the development of information and communication technologies (ICT), Singapore topped. Followed in the top 10, as Finland, Sweden, Norway, United States, Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK, Luxembourg and Japan.

The report ranked the economy is based on 53 elements of the regulatory environment, political, human resource skills and competitiveness to the application of ICT by individuals, organizations and businesses ...

53 factors are grouped into 10 criteria, including: 1. The legal environment and politics; 2. The business environment and innovation; 3. Infrastructure and digital content; 4. Competitiveness; 5. Skills; 6. Applied ICT people; 7. Application of ICT businesses; 8. Application of the government ICT; 9. The economic impact; 10. The impact on society. 10. The criteria are classified into 4 groups of criteria: environmental criteria groups; group criteria readiness; criteria for application groups and groups on the impact criteria.

Summary of findings 4 groups ranked this criteria will be just some "ready to connect", determining the position of the economy on the global ICT map.

In the rankings this year, Singapore led the 3 groups of criteria (environment, application and impact). Lion Island is ranked No. 1 in a number of key criteria such as the business environment and innovative, ICT-quality human resources, the level of ICT use by the government, the social impact of ICT.

Wednesday group own criteria (readiness), Lion Island slipped to 16th by the competitiveness of the ICT limited, affected by the cost of using the telecommunications services and the cost of human resources high capacity.

"Overall, No. 1 in the League table resulting from a strong commitment of the Government of Singapore for the ICT sector, including most notably the National Smart program" - the report stressed.
